UK Startup Week is a 5-day (& night), multi-venue, citywide festival that aims to inspire & educate more people to start & grow their business in the North East & wider North of England.
With each day covering a different stage in the business startup & scaleup journey, the North East BIC team will be on hand to give presentations, host panel discussions & offer expert help, advice & guidance to delegates throughout the week.

Who are the North East BIC?
Providing free, expert business support, training & flexible workspaces, the North East BIC welcomes businesses of all sizes from concept to startup, to scaleup & beyond. Tailored workspaces & co-working hubs are home to more than 300 businesses in Sunderland, Darlington & Washington, where the BIC community works together to make North East business stronger.
Working in partnership with local authorities & other business support providers, the BIC has also been fortunate to secure contracts to deliver numerous new business support programmes across the North East of England – from startup support to innovation grants & social enterprise support.
Most recently, the ‘Enterprising Sunderland’ & ‘Wear Together’ programmes (funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) & overseen by Sunderland City Council) have been set up to help residents in the Sunderland city region set up their own businesses & to inspire local businesses to innovate and grow.

1 wristband for all 5 days
When you buy a ticket for UK Startup Week, you will receive a wristband on arrival that gives you access to all day & evening events taking place across the 5 days.
Everyone will be able to attend Day 1 (taking place at The Fire Station) but Days 2-5 will be in smaller venues so you will be asked to specify which days & events you wish to attend nearer the time.
The wristband will also give you access to all of the after parties & networking events taking place across the week & entitle you to various special offers & discounts in local venues.
