- 9am-9.30am: Arrivals with teas, coffees + light refreshments
- 9.30am-10.15am: Insights Briefing (on marketing, sales, funding & more to help you grow your business)
- 10.15am-11am: Show & Tell (presentations / talks from 3-4 startups / SMEs)
- 11am-11.15am: Short Break
- 11.15am-11.55am: In Conversation With… (interview / fireside chat with successful entrepreneur / business leader)
- 11.55am-12pm: Closing Remarks

UK Startup Week is a 5-day (& night), multi-venue, citywide festival that aims to inspire & educate more people to start & grow their business in Sunderland & the North East / North of England.
What’s it all about?
Our Startup Week events in 2017 & 2018 both attracted 600+ delegates & our 2019 event attracted 800+ delegates from the North East, across the UK & around the world! Our 2025 event attracted 400+.
Since the pandemic, we’ve seen first-hand how Sunderland (in the North East of England) has been gearing up to be one of the most exciting places to live, work & run a business in the UK & we want to help build an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the city.
Over the course of 5 days (between 2-6 June 2025), we covered the following themes that we believe all new businesses, projects, products & services need to go through to be a success:
- Monday = INSPIRATION
- Tuesday = GETTING STARTED
- Wednesday = FUNDING & FINANCE
- Thursday = GROWING & SCALING
- Friday = KEEP GOING OR PIVOT?

Newcastle Startup Week, Newcastle Scaleup Summit + Founders’ Friday
Between 2017-2021, we organised & ran many successful & highly-engaging events including:
- 3 x Newcastle Startup Week events (for 600-800 people)
- 2 x Startup Week ONLINE events (for 200-300 people)
- 1 x Newcastle Scaleup Summit event (for 175 people)
- 20 x Founders’ Friday events (for 50-80 people)
Between July 2023-December 2023 we also ran 6 x Startup Week Community Social events for startup founders, small business owners, funders / investors, supporters & previous event attendees to come together.
